Foundation Public School (FPS) is a private institution in Pakistan functioning as a private limited company, established in 1981 by Mr. and Mrs. Raza Kamal Minhas. With a student body of 6000 supported by over 500 members of the teaching staff and operating nine campuses in Karachi and Hyderabad, FPS provides education to children from ages 3.5 years to 18 years, leading to O and A Level examinations held by Cambridge International Examinations, conducted by the Cambridge University, United Kingdom.
House System:
There are three houses and students are randomly divided among them with an option of changing house if they are not satisfied. The houses, named after the important personalities in Pakistan's history, are: Jinnah (blue), Liaquat (red) and Iqbal (yellow).
Curriculum:
Like many private schools in Pakistan, FPS prepares students for the University of Cambridge International Examinations: GCE, Ordinary Level, and the Advanced Level examinations.
Subjects taught at FPS include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Studies, Pakistan Studies, Urdu, Islamic Studies, English Literature and Language, Economics, Accounting, Business Studies, Environmental Studies, Statistics, and Sociology.
Fees:
The admission fee and security deposit at FPS is higher than other private schools in the city which is the main reason that many middle class families are unable to send their children to the school; same is for the tuition fee which is collected in advance for three months.
