St Mary's Cambridge School is situated on Murree Road, Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

History:


It is one of the oldest independent schools of Rawalpindi. St. Mary's Cambridge is in an old building which was previously used as hospital, named Holy Family Hospital. The hospital moved to its present building in satellite town during early 1960s and the building was handed over to school. For decades St. Mary's served the local population by providing high quality education. It lagged behind in competition with private school chains which started emerging on the scene in 1980s. The school is owned and managed by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Islamabad-Rawalpindi. It provides religious education in Islam as per curriculum decided by the local education board.

St. Mary's is located on famous Murree Road between Liaqat Bagh and Committee Chowk. it was once easily accessible from anywhere in the city and even Islamabad, but with increasing traffic in the city, pupils from further afield areas do not join the school anymore. The school lacks proper parking spaces for the teachers and safe drop off zone for children.

Facilities:

This school caters only for boys. The classes are from Playgroup to year 10 (known as Matric). After 8th grade, A and B section are for those students who opt for Biology as their major subject and C is for those who opt for Computer science.But Since 2010 classification of biology and computer is closed there is a Board Examination of 8th Grade.All boys study science and computer.There is 1 book of science but it is divided into 3 portions Biology ,Chemistry and physics. The school has three main blocks, with a separate block for primary education, It has a playfield, used for football and cricket, it also has a basketball court, a vollyball court and outdoor badminton court.

St. Mary's provides well rounded education by not only focusing on curriculum, but developing the abilities of its boys in various fields, Like arts, Drama, Debates and sports.

The School has a website started by Alumni at Flash Intro Page. This website has a discussion forum which can be used by members by logging-in.

Events:
On May 10, 2008, the school was the venue for a Run for Unity program. It involved students aged 1115 in drawing, essay-writing, poetry, song, PowerPoint and video-making competitions. Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana, the apostolic nuncio to Pakistan, and Bishop Anthony Lobo attended
