Re: Our Education | | Well Maski!
Liked your article.....I agree with all your views except the computer stuff....I couldnot get what you mean by practical stuff in computer Science....If someone knows theory in computer science then he/she will be able to implement it.....what my view is that all the private sector institutions (not public or Govt sector) in Pakistan are just practical oriented just teaching their students the practical use of computer software not the basic theory and that is my complaint....The need is to teach the basic theory of computation and the fundamentals in computing practices...else what I know that guys in Pakistan have several certifications like SCJP bla blah but they are unaware of basic theory of computing...suppose a guy knows Java and he has to program something in image processing but if he doesnot know the theory that is totally mathematics, he will be unable to program anything....so I totally disagree with you in this regard....keep this thing in mind for computer science especially if you know nothing in theory then you are unable to do anything...upto my knowledge the latest field in computing like Artificial Intelligence, Image processing and recognition all involve very sound theoritical concepts and if someone is weak in those concept he won't be able even to program a single line of code mate!!!!
