chara gar! hud na rahi dard-i-maseehayee ki
meiN nay awaz suni hay ussi her jayee ki

bay sabab khaab ki palkouN pe sajay rahnay se
koo ba koo phail gayee baat shanasayee ki

hum ko saffak zabanouN se bhi dar lagta hay
kia karaiN hum kay tamanna bhi hay ruswayee ki

tera deewana chala hay janib-i-maqtal jo kabhi
usski her gaam teray gham nay pazeerayee ki

teray ghayel bhi sanam tujh se dawa laitay heiN
duniya qayel hay teray dast-i-maseehayee ki

bay khata teesha-o-nishtar heiN teray hathouN meiN
neem jaaN khaahish-i-dil hay kisi soudayee ki

zindagi bhar na kabhi chain milay lamhay ko
dil nay phir aaj qasam khayaee hay tanhayee ki
