dil ki dehleez pe dastak si hui pichhle pehr
phir kisi yaad ki baraat chali pichhle pehr

us pari-wish ko to bhooley huwe umrein beeteen
kyun in aankhon se meri neend uri pichhle pehr

qatra maanga tha merey rab ney samandar bakhsha
girya zari mein woh taseer ghuli pichhle pehr

yeh jo bikhra hua,tanha sa nazar aata hai
is ko mehsoos hui teri kami pichhle pehr

tu jo aata to merey ghar mein charaghaan hota
shehr-e-weeran mein faqat raakh uri pichhle pehr

phir tasawwur mein tera waqt-e-judai thehra
aankh mein holey sey dar aai nami pichhle pehr

Kiya likhta hai yaar tu kasam se dil jhoom uthtta hai perh ker. Aik mushkil radeef ko jiss khobsoorati se tum ne nibhaya bay-ikhtiyaar daad dainay ko g kiya.

yeh ashaar tu bohat hee khobsoorat haiN

qatra maanga tha merey rab ney samandar bakhsha
