MERE NAAM

barson baad aaj woh makaam aaya hai,
gulabi ek khat aaj mere naam aaya hai.

yun khushboo ne mehka diya wajood ko mere,
virane mein jaise koi gulab khil aaya hai.

yun laga woh nashili likhavat dekhkar.
kore kaagaz ko jaise jaam pilaya gaya hai.

baste the kabhi jo harpal meri saansoon mein,
shayad sadiyon baad aaj unka salaam aaya hai.

bata na saka jo apni be-intihan mohabbat,
har woh kissa unhone ginke bayaan kiya hai.

milne ki unhone guzarish ki thi humse,
khuda bhi aaj jaise meharbaan hua hai.

nazare bichhaye rakhna hamare intezar mein,
shararti andaz mein unhone farmaan kiya hai.

par shayad kismat ko manzoor na thi muskaan meri,
lakiro se jaise aaj usne intekam liya hai.

barso pehle ka likha hua tha woh khat,
badnaseeb woh pyar ka mere anjaam laya hai.

ban sakta tha jo kabhi zindagi meri,
woh hi khat aaj mere maut ka paigaam laya hai
