juz tark-e-ta'aluq koi chara bhi nahiN tha
bin us k mager apna guzara bhi nahiN tha
Wah yeh shair kuch aisa laga jesay puranay waqton main
koi dastan goo mutasir kun andaz main apni dastan ka aghaz karta
ho or sun'nay walay hamatan gosh ho jatay haon.
daa'way to sabhi ko thy wafadari k lekin,
ham dooby to tinkay ka sahara bhi nahiN tha.
yahan aap nay mohawaray ko jis khobsorti say istamal kia
woh qabil e daad hay
lamhaat-e-firaaq aa'ay khaRy thy kyuN abhi se,
ham ne to abhi waqt guzara bhi nahi tha
wah janab yahan mujhay khalid alaig ka ik shair yad aa gia
Andaz e janoon yeh ham nay ishq say seekhay hain
laay faryad ki dheemi loo deep ki madham rakhna
dheema dheema nami main dooba hoa lehja boht khoob.
is ghazal nay boht mutasir kia kush rahain
