The upsets in the Cricket World Cup history: Mainly when a non-test playing country beats the test playing country. 1979 - Group B: India v Sri Lanka at Manchester - June 16, 1979 Sri Lanka won by 47 runs. Sri Lanka 238-5 (60 ov); India 191 (54.1 ov). 1983 - Group B: Australia v Zimbabwe at Nottingham - June 9, 1983 Zimbabwe won by 13 runs. Zimbabwe 239-6 (60 ov); Australia 226-7 (60 ov). 1996 - Group A: Kenya v West Indies at Poona - February 29, 1996 Kenya won by 73 runs. Kenya 166 (49.3 ov); West Indies 93 (35.2 ov). 1999 - Group B: Bangladesh v Pakistan at Northampton - May 31, 1999 Bangladesh won by 62 runs. Bangladesh 223-9 (50 ov); Pakistan 161 (44.3 ov). Canada won by 60 runs. Canada 180 (49.1 ov); Bangladesh 120 (28 ov). 2003 - Pool B: Kenya v Sri Lanka at Nairobi - February 24, 2003 Kenya won by 53 runs. Kenya 210-9 (50 ov); Sri Lanka 157 (45 ov). 2007 - Pool D: Ireland v Pakistan at Kingston – March 17, 2007 Ireland won by 3 wickets. Pakistan 132-9 (45.4 ov); Ireland 133/7 (41.4 ov). If we look at those results carefully for losers, we found following - Pakistan appears twice in this list. - All asian countries in this list Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka. - Only one white (gora) country in this list Australia. If we look at those results carefully for winners, we found following - Kenya appears twice in this list. Bangladesh appears as winner (vs Pakistan) and loser (vs Canada) both.
