gumaa.n guzarta hay, ye shakhs dosra hay koi

hawa nay tor k patta zamee.n per phainka hay
k shab ki jheel main pather gira diya koi

bara sakey hain parosii kisi ka dard kabhi!
yehi bohat hay k chehrey sey aashna hay koi

darakht raah batain hila hila kar haath
k qafiley sey musafir bichar gaya hay koi

chura k haath bohat door beh gaya hay chand
kisi k saath samander main dobta hay koi

ye aasmaan sey toota howa sitara hay
k dasht_e shab main bhatakti koi sada koi

makaan aur nahi hay madal gaya hay makee.n
ufaq wohi hay magar chaand dosra hay koi

faseel_e jism per taza lahu k cheentey hain
hudood_e waqt sey aagey nikal gaya hay koi

Shakeb deep sey lehra rahey hain palkoo.n per
diyaar_e chashm main kiya aaj rat-jaga hay koi!
