merey naghmaat ko andaz-e-nawaa yaad naheen

hum ne jin ke liye rahoon main bichaya tha lahoo
hum se kehtey hain wohi ehd-e-wafa yaad naheen

zindagee jabr-e-musalsal ki terha kaati hai
janey kis jurm ki pai hai saza yaad naheen

main ne palkoon se der-e-yaar peh dastak di hai
main woh saa-il hoon jisey koi sadaa yaad naheen

kaisey bher aain ser-e-shaam kisi ki aankhain
kaisey theraaii charaghoon ki zayaa yaad naheen

sirf dhundlaye sitaroon ki chamak daikhee hai
kab hua kon hua mujh se khafa yaad naheen

aaoo ik sajdah kerain alam-e-madhooshi main
log kehtey hain keh sagher ko khuda yaad naheen
