Woh bhool guye,
Mujhe kyun yaad ruhi woh sham,
Dhalti raat ka masti bharra jaam,
Subah ki dhundh mein khoya,
Woh dharakta pehla pyaar,
Muhabbat ke uncchuey nashe mein,
Khone ko do dil bekaraar,

Unn khaamosh nigaaho ka,
Toofani madmast sa nasha,
Baaho mein bhurne ki,
Woh kashish woh tadhap,
chandni raat ka jaadu tha,
Ya muhabbat ka thha assar,

Janamo ke bhandhan
Pal mein baandh guyi mai,
Unke garm aagosh mein
Juhaan ko bhool guyi mai,
Woh muhabbat ke naazuk se pal thhe,
Ya kisi duldul ki gumraah jannat,

kucch woh behke,
Kucch mai khoyi,
Madhoshi ke uss pal mein,
Pal ke uss milan mein,
Taa janam unse bhandh guyi mai,
Unki ho guyi mai,

Yeh gehraate dardnaak saaye,
Tanha behte khamosh aansoo,
Ai khudaa taras khaa,
Zarra yeh to bataa,
Woh bhool guye,
Mujhe kyun yaad ruhi woh sham ?





You forgot,
Why I remember that evening,
Waning night's that intoxicating goblet,
lost in the fog of the early morn,
Throbbing of that first love,
Longing of two hearts to get lost,
In love's untouched intoxication.

Those silent dreamy eyes,
Their stormy intoxication,
That attraction, that yearning,
To hold me in your arms,
Was it magic of the moonlit night,
Or influence of that first love,

Bond of lives I tied in a moment,
Lost in love's warm embrace,
Forgot this world,
That moment's meeting tied us for life,
Were they the delicate moments of love,
Or the misleading marshy paradise,

A little you went astray,
Little I got lost,
That moment of intoxication,
The meeting of that moment,
Tied me to you for life,
Became yours forever,

These deep dark painful shadows,
Solitary silently flowing tears,
Oh! God, have mercy,
Just let me know,
You forgot,
Why I remember that evening ?

I'd like to capture a rainbow
and stick it in a big box
so that,
anytime you wanted to,
you could reach in and pull out
a piece of sunshine.

I'd like to build you a mountain
that you could call your very own
a place to find serenity
in those times when you
feel the need to be
closer to yourself...

I'd like to be the one
who's there when you're
lonely or troubled
or you just need
someoneto hold on to.
I'd like to do all this and more
to make your life happy.

But, sometimes,
it isn't easy to do
the things I would like to do
or give the things I would
like to give.

So... until I learn how to
catch rainbows and build mountains,
let me do for you which I know best...

Let me simply
be your friend.
