maa! mujhay neend nahi aati hai
aik muddat se mujhay neend nahi aati hai

ratjagay ab tau muqadar hein meri palkon ka
neend aaye tau liye aati hai Baghdad ki yaad
aankh lagtay hi koi bewa utha deti hai
pait kitna hi bharon bhook nahi mit'ti hai
jaltay Basra ki mujhay piyaas jaga deti hai
koi Qandhar ki waadi se bulata hai mujhay
zikr Kunduz ka aaye tau mujhay lagta hai
kaat ke ser koi hansta hai,jalata hai mujhay
bomb ki aawazain mujhay kuch nahi kehti hein magar
zakhm in bachon ke sonay nahi detay hein mujhay
maa meri aankhain tau patthar ki hui jaati hein
no-jawan laashay yeh ronay nahi detay hein mujhay
mere seenay pe rakho haath
rula do na mujhay.....!
maa! mujhay lori sunao na
sula do na mujhay.....!
maa! mujhay neend nahi aati hai
aik muddat se mujhay neend nahi aati hai.....!
