aik lamhey ko thahar mainn tujhey pathar laa doon
main terey samney ambaar laga doon lekin
kaun sey rang kaa pathar terey kaam aayega
surkh patthar jisey dil kehti hai be-dil duniya
yaa wo pattharai hooi aankhoon kaa nila patthar
jis main sadiyon ki tahayur ki pari hon dore

kiya tujhe rooh key patthar ki zaroorat hogi
jis pe haq baat bhi patthar ki tarah girti hai
aik wo patthar hai jise kehtey hain tahazib-e-safed
us ke mar_mar main siyah Khoon jhalak jataa hai
aik insaaf ka patthar bhi to hota hai magar
haath main tesha-e-zar ho to wo haath ata hai

jitane mayaar hain is daur ke sab patthar hain
shair bhi raqs bhi tasvir-o-ginaa bhi patthar
mere ilhaam tera zahan-e-rasa bhi patthar
is zamane main har fan ka nishan patthar hai
haath patthar hain tere meri zuban patthar hai
rait sey bout na bana aye mere achchey fankaar
