Surah Fatir : Ayah 29] ![]() "Surely they who recite the Book of Allah and keep up prayer and spend out of what We have given them secretly and openly, hope for a gain which will not perish." ![]() Quran Recitation in Every Prayer [Sahih Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 12, Number 726] Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abi Qatada (Radi Allah Anhu): My father said, "The Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) in Zuhr prayers used to recite Al-Fatiha along with two other Suras in the first two Rakat: a long one in the first Rak'a and a shorter (Sura) in the second, and at times the verses were audible. In the 'Asr prayer the Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) used to recite Al-Fatiha and two more Suras in the first two Rakat and used to prolong the first Rak'a. And he (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) used to prolong the first Rak'a of the Fajr prayer and shorten the second. ![]() [Sahih Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 12, Number 739] Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu): The Qur'an is recited in every prayer and in those prayers in which Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) recited aloud for us, we recite aloud in the same prayers for you; and the prayers in which the Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) recited quietly, we recite quietly. If you recite "Al-Fatiha" only it is sufficient but if you recite something else in addition, it is better. [Sahih Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 12, Number 741] Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (Radi Allah Anhu): The Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) recited aloud in the prayers in which he (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) was ordered to do so and quietly in the prayers in which he (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) was ordered to do so. "And your Lord is not forgetful." "Verily there was a good example for you in the ways of the Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam)." ![]() |
