[25. Surah Al-Furqan : Ayah 71]

"And whoever repents and does good, he surely turns to Allah a (goodly) turning."

They said: O Zulqarnain! surely Gog and Magog make mischief in the land. Shall we then pay you a tribute on condition that you should raise a barrier between us and them.

With Whom is Allah?

If you demanded a judgment, the judgment has then indeed come to you; and if you desist, it will be better for you; and if you turn back (to fight), We (too) shall turn back, and your forces shall avail you nothing, though they may be many, and (know) that Allah is with the believers.

Allah is with Those Who Restrain Themselves (Muttaqeen)[9. Surah At-Tawba : Ayah 123]

O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil).

[2. Surah Al-Baqarah : Ayah 194]

The Sacred month for the sacred month and all sacred things are (under the law of) retaliation; whoever then acts aggressively against you, inflict injury on him according to the injury he has inflicted on you and be careful (of your duty) to Allah and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil).

Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and have disputations with them in the best manner; surely your Lord best knows those who go astray from His path, and He knows best those who follow the right way. And if you take your turn, then retaliate with the like of that with which you were afflicted; but if you are patient, it will certainly be best for those who are patient. And be patient and your patience is not but by (the assistance of) Allah, and grieve not for them, and do not distress yourself at what they plan. Surely Allah is with those who guard (against evil) and those who do good (to others).

And certainly We have made the Quran easy to understand" [54:17] .

[Sahih Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 12, Number 726]

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abi Qatada (Radi Allah Anhu): My father said, "The Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) in Zuhr prayers used to recite Al-Fatiha along with two other Suras in the first two Rakat: a long one in the first Rak'a and a shorter (Sura) in the second, and at times the verses were audible. In the 'Asr prayer the Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) used to recite Al-Fatiha and two more Suras in the first two Rakat and used to prolong the first Rak'a. And he (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) used to prolong the first Rak'a of the Fajr prayer and shorten the second.

[Sahih Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 12, Number 739]

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu): The Qur'an is recited in every prayer and in those prayers in which Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) recited aloud for us, we recite aloud in the same prayers for you; and the prayers in which the Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) recited quietly, we recite quietly. If you recite "Al-Fatiha" only it is sufficient but if you recite something else in addition, it is better.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (Radi Allah Anhu): The Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) recited aloud in the prayers in which he (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) was ordered to do so and quietly in the prayers in which he (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) was ordered to do so. "And your Lord is not forgetful." "Verily there was a good example for you in the ways of the Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam)."
