shaid tumhain undaza-e halaat nahi hay

ye kaise kahoo.n, un sey main waqif hi nahi hon
haan, door sey dekha hay, mulaqaat nahi hay

shikwe tu unhain mujh sey hamesha hi rahey hain
merey leye ye koi nai baat nahi hay

yoon un sey mulaqaat tu ho jaati hay aksar
bas silsila-e pusish-e halaat nahi hay

namoos-e mohabbat ka tahafuz hay bari baat
khud apna ziyaa.n, koi bari baat nahi hay

be-noor ujaloo.n ko seher kaise samajh loon
tum laakh kahe jajo k ab raat nahi hay

Iqbal, bura kehtey ho tum dil shikani ko
is door main ye baat, koi baat nahi hay

merey kum sukhn ka ye hukm tha k kalaam us sey main kam karoo.n
merey hont aise seley k phir, meri chup nay us ko rola diya
