| Bohat se log samajhte hain ke sirf InPage main sahi se Urdu likhi ja sakti hai, aur phir usay Image format main export kar ke Adobe Photoshop waghaira main use karte hain. Ab aisi koi baat nahi hai, Windows 2000 / XP main Urdu support mojood hai. Masla sirf yeh hai ke jo Urdu fonts Windows ke sath aate hain wo NAKSH style main hain (Arabic style) aur urdu aam tor par NASTALEEQ style main likhi jaati hai jo ziada attractive hai (jo Inpage main use hoti hai). Is ke ilawa jo Microsoft ka Urdu keyboard hai us ka layout bohat bekaar hai aur English keyboard walay usay use nahi kar sakte. Is liay main is post main aap ko batana chahta hoon ke Windows main directly Urdu kaisay likh sakte hain aur aap ko kin files ki zarurat hai. Setting Up Your System For Urdu Before we can install the keyboard you must install Urdu Support on it. Please do the following 1- Open "Regional and Language Options" from control panel OR from start menu -> Run "intl.cpl". 2- Choose Language tab. 3- Check the "Install files for Complex Script and right-to-left languages (Including Thai)". 4- Press Apply to proceed. 5- Click "Details" button. 6- Click on "Add" button from "Input Language" list box select Urdu. Press OK Now you can type Urdu text after selecting it from the taskbar NOTE: Windows 2000 doesn't have urdu keyboard layout, you should select Farsi as your keyboard layout when installing Urdu. Installing the Urdu Phonetic Layout Keyboard Download the keyboard file from my site, this is the link: Urdu Phonetic Keyboard Extract the files. In this case I am assuming you extracted the files to c:\urdukbd Shut down Windows Restart the computer and just before Windows is about to start up press the key F8 to enter Windows startup menu. Choose Safe Mode Wait for Windows to load and then open the folder c:\urdukbd You should see the following files in the directory (We are ignoring the sub-directories). Windows Xp Installation Files Backup.bat Install.bat Restore.bat Windows 2000 Installation Files Backup-2000.bat Install-2000.bat Restore-2000.bat Batch File Purposes Backup - Backs up your existing Urdu Keyboard layout Install - Installs the Phonetic Keyboard Layout Restore - Restores the default Windows Keyboard Layout which you backed up (You did back up didn't you?) Run the Backup file according to your relevant operating system by double-clicking it. Run the relevant Install file Restart the computer Re-start your system and start the computer as normal Open up notepad and select the Urdu Keyboard layout. If Alif appears when you press A on the keyboard then the file was installed properly. Urdu Fonts Download these cool urdu fonts from my site, this is the link: Urdu unicode fonts This file also contains the Nafees Nastaleeq font, so you can write urdu in the same style as InPage. All fonts are unicode so you can use them directly in any windows application, e.g. you can use WordArt in Microsoft Word to create 3D Urdu text easily. This is the keyboard layout: Lower Case: Upper Case: -
