Wo gaya to saath hi le gaya sab hi rung utaar k sheher ka
Koi shakhas tha mere sheher main kisi door paar k sheher ka

Chalo koi dil to udas tha,chalo koi aankh to nam rahi
Chalo koi der to khula raha shab-e-intazar k sheher ka

Ye jo main ne taaza ghazal kahi,so hai nazar ahl-e-firaq ki
K na mil saka koi naama ber mujhe mere yaar k sheher ka

So mata-e-jaan ko liye hoye,palat aaye tere garifta dil
Kise bechte k mila nahi koi aitbaar tere sheher ka

Mere tarz-e-naghma sarai se koi baghban b to khush nahi
Ye mera mizaaj hai kya karon k hon main bahar k sheher ka

Kisi aur des ki oaur ko suna hai Faraz chala gaya
Sab hi dukh samait k sheher ka,sab hi qarz utaar k sheher ka
