waste koi khwab mange ge,
hum bhi uswaqt un se apne har,
ratjagey ka hisaab mangen ge.

unki yadon mein kho ke ulfat ki,
hum bhee koi kitab likh den ge,
jis ke sab lafz hum se un ke hi,
nam ka intesab mangen ge.

chandni rat ke ujale mein
gul ko shabnam mein bheegta pa kar,
gehrey akash ke taley hum bhee,
kismaton ke shahab mangen ge.

hum ko manzoor hey ye sauda bhee,
unke rastey ke khaar chun len ge,
aur badley mein kuch nahee lekin,
chahaton ke gulab mangen ge.

cha gaya hey sukoot kion itna,
apki yad chhutt gaee kese,
chahte the suoon-e-qalb magar
aj hum izteraab mangen ge.
