Bakhiya-gari ke shouq mein zakhm naye laga diye

Dast-e-hawaa ne rait per pehlay banaye raastay
Phir mere ghar ke raastay, ghar se tere mila diye

Kitni thi ajnabi fiza, pehlay pahel firaaq mein
Dard ke ishtiraak ne doast kayee bana diye

Aamad-e-yaar ki khabar sun ke ham ahel-esouq ne
Palkon se gard saaf ki, rastay mein dil bichaa diye

Poocha tha kya pasand hai tum ko meri biyaaz mein
Us ne judaaiion ke shair chun ke mujhe suna diye

Aakhri sang-e-meel tak saans ukhar chali magar
Paish khayaal tha koyee, ham ne qadam barha diye

Aik sitam zareef ne subah-e-tarb ke naam per
Apna diyaa bacha liya, sab ke diye bujha diye

Kitna sukhan shanaas tha taana diya to yuun diya
Aap ke fan ke rat-jagay hijar ne jagmagaa diye</font>
