gulaab dil main to aankhon main roshni thi buhat
main us ko chaand ki saa'at main dekhti thi buhat

tumhari chashm e tamanna main hi gulaal na tha
k mere khuwabon ki rangat bhi champa'i thi buhat

so dil ne thak k abhi se parao daal dia
k tera saath na tha aur zindagi thi buhat

kuch is liye bhi ziada tujhe nahi dekha
k tere chehre pe us roz be rukhi thi buhat

main bazm e anjum o mehtaab le k kia kerti
charagh e jaan ko to ik teri roshni thi buhat

is liye to buhat nam hai meri aankhon main
k aik baar tere saath main hansi thi bbuhat

khula nahi mere dil pe k aw'wal e shab e wasl
shahab tha tera chehra k chandni thi buhat

tumhare hijr ne khola dar e shanasaayi
zameen e shair o sukhan pehle ajnabi thi buhat
