Terey hotey hue mahafil mein jalaatey hain chiraag
Log kyaa sadaa hain suraj ko dikhaatey hain chiraag


Apnii maharuumiyon pey sharmindaa hain
Khud nahii rakhtey to auron ke bujhaatey ha.n chiraag


Bastiyaan chaand sitaaron pey basaaney vaaley
Qurraa-e-arz bujhaatey jaatey hain chiraag


Kyaa Khabar hai un ko ke daaman bhii bharrak uthtey hain
Jo zamaaney kii havaaon sey bachaatey hain chiraag


Aisii taariikiiyaan aankhon mein basii han 'Faraz'
Raat to raat,, hum din ko jalaatey hain chiraag
