dil wo be-mehr keh roonay ke bahaanay maaNge

apna yeh haal ke dil haar chuke mit bhi chuke
aur mohobbat wo hi andaaz puraane maaNge

hum na hotay to kisi aur ke churchay hotay
khuqat-e shehr tau kehnay ko fusaanay maaNge

yeh-hi dil tha keh tarasta tha maraasim ke lya
ab yeh-hi turk-e talug ke bahaanay maaNge

main who mehroom kay jaisay koi veeraanaa hoon
tu woh khush fahem, kharaaboun say khazaaney maaNge

zindagi hum tere daghooN se rahe sharminda
aur tu hai keh sada aina khaanay maaNge

dil kisi haal per qaanay hi nahin jaan-e "faraz"
mil gaye tum bhi tau kya aur na jaane maaNge
