Kantoon pe guzarti hai kya kya ye baat chupai logon ne

Woh kahete rahe sab sunte rahe un per to nahi hai pabandi
Jab maine hillai apni zaban sau qaid lagayee logon ne

Ho jate bahem do dil mil ker ye baat gawara thi kisko
Mana woh khafa the kutch hamse, kuch aur lagayee logon ne

Us waqt kahan tum soye the itna to batado ab mujh ko
Jab meri muhabbat ki duniya hass hass ke metai logon ne

Ham doob rahe the toofan me kya tum ne nahin yeh dekha tha
Ehsan tumhara kyoon mane kashti to bachaie logon ne

Bad halo parishan khoee hue hum paunche jo un ki mahfil mein
Samjhe yeh koi dewana hai janjeer bardhai logon ne

Ham kaise pahunchte masjid me rukh kaise haram ka kar lete
Jo raah gai butkhane ko woh raah dekhai logon ne

Jis waqt mera ghar jalta tha us waqt ka manzar mat pooch
Lau aur bardhai de ker hawa kab aag bujhaee logon ne


Kya raz tha is me poshida kya baat thi aisi aee tishna
Jab hosh mujhe kuch aane laga maye aur pilayee logon ne
