Kisi ki bewafai bais-e-herat nahi hoti
Zara sa dil to dukhta he magar shiddat nahi hoti

Bohat khud ko jalata hoon ye barson ki riazat hai
Meray andar ki lekin door ye zulmat nahi hoti

Yeh dukh hai keh kisi ne bhi hamen dil say nahi chaha
Zara sa piyar mil jata to yeh halat nahi hoti

Zamin-o-aasmaan main ik ta'alluq to he sadyoon say
magar paida kahin bhi rabt ki soorat nahi hoti

Ajab hi falsfa hai yeh ameeri aur gharibi ka
ke umrain sarf ho jati hain kum ghurbat nahi hoti

Bohat sey khoob chehray hain bohat si dilruba nazrain
Teray honay se hoti thi jo kefiiat nahi hoti

Hawala jab talak tera na aa jaye kahin in main
meray sheron main peda tab talak jiddat nahi hoti

Teray gumnaam mar janay main AZHAR kya buraie hay
ke har insaan ki qismat main to shohrat nahin hoti
