Kahein sang main bhi roshni kahein aag main bhi dhooan nahin
Yeh ajeeb sheher-e-tilsam hai! kahein aadmi ka nishan nahin

Na hi is zameen ke nashain main na hi aasmaan ke faraz per
Kati umar us ko talashtey jo kahein nahin pe kahan nahin?

Yeh jo zindgani ka khail hai, gham wa anbsaab ka mail hai
Usey qadar kya ho bahar ki! kabhi dekhi jis ne khizaan nahin

Wo jo cut girey pe na jhuk sakey, jo na maqtalon se bhi ruk sakey
Koi ayesa sir nahin dosh per, kisi mun main ayesi zubaan nahin

Jo thay ashak wo main ne pi liye, lab-e-khushk wa sohta si liye
Merey zakham phir bhi eyaan rahey, mera dard phir bhi nihaan nahin

Nahin us ko ishq se wasta woh hai aur hi koi rasta
Agar is main dil ka lahoo nahin agar is main jaan ka ziyaan nahin.
