Jab b milta hey koi shakhs baharoun jaisa
muj ko tum kaise bhulatey ho kahan hotey ho

Yaad ati hain akaley ma tumhari neendain akser
kis tarha khud ko sulatey ho kahan hotey ho

Shab ke tanhai ma akser yeh khayal ata hey
apney dukh kis ko sunatey ho kahan hotey ho

Mosam-e-gul ma nasha HIJR ka barh jata hey
mere sab hosh churatey ho kahan hotey ho

Sard raatoun ma tumhain kaise bhula sakta houn
Aag c dil ma lagatey ho kahan hotey ho

Shehar k log b Wasiq yehi kerty hain sawal
ab bohat kaam nazar atey ho kahan hotey ho

Rastay manzilen sarab aur dil
Kitne be-rooh murda khoab aur dil

Lams ke haath kitne yakh - basta
Sard- muhri ke kitne baab aur dil

Jaan -kani hai ya zeest karna hai
Dharkanon ka mehaz azaab aur dil

Yaad ke dhundlake mein jeene do!
Bhool jane ka iztarab aur dil

Raah mein aagahi ke sang-reze
Haath mein HIJR ki kitaab aur DIL

g'ye mausam maiN jo khiltay thay gulaboN ki t'rah
dil pe uthreNgaiN wahi khwab azaboN ki t'rah

raakh ke dhaiR pe ab raat basR kerni hai
jal chukay haiN m're khemay, m're khwaboN ki t'rah

saa'at-e- deed ke aariz haiN gulaabi ab tak
awwaleeN lamhoN ke gulnaaR hijaboN ki t'rah

woh samandar hai tho phir rooh ko shadaab karay
tashNgee kioN muje deta hai saraboN ki t'rah

ghaiR mumkin hai t're ghar ke gulaboN ka shumaaR
meray ristay hovay zakhmoN ke hisaboN ki t'rah

yaad tho hoNgi woh bataiN tuje ab bhi lekin
shelf maiN rakkhi hovi baNd kitaboN ki t'rah

kon janay ke naye saaL maiN thoo kis ko parray
t'ra myaaR badaltaa hai nisaboN ki t'rah

shokh ho jati hai ab bhi tri aNkhoN ki chamak
gaahay gaahay, t're dilchasp jawaboN ki tarah

hijR ki shab , m'rii tanhayii pe dastak de gi

ajj phir dasht e talab se umeed
nangay paon nagay sir ayi

ajj phir zaib e dastan kaliye
khush gumani fasanay ghar ayi


ajj phir raks e bekasi kernay
tareeki kud hi mere ghar ayi

ajj phir wehshat e shab e hijran
bin bulaye hi man main der ayi

ajj phir zabt e zaat toot gaya
ajj phir narasa nazer ayi......

Main kiya likhoon jo mera tumhara rishta hai
wo aashique ki zaban main kahin darj nahi

likha gaya hai bohat lutf-o-wisl-o-dard-o-firaagh
magar ye kafiyaat apni raqam nahi hai kahin

ye apna ishq-e-hum aaogh jis main HIJR-o-wisaal
ye apna dard k kab se hai humdam-e-maah-o-saal

isi ishq-e-kahaas ko sab se chupaae hoe
"Guzar Gaya Zamana Gaale Lagae Hoe"
