tumhaare ghar ka safar is qadar to saKht na thaa

itne masruuf the ham jaane ki tayaarii men
khaDe the tum aur tumhen dekhne ka vaqt na thaa

main jis ki khoj men Khud kho gayaa thaa mele men
kahin vo meraa hi ehsaas to kam_baKht na thaa

jo zulm sah ke bhi chup rah gayaa na Khaul uThaa
vo aur kuchh ho magar aadmi ka rakt na thaa

[Khaul = boil; rakt = blood]

unhiin faqiiron ne itihaas banaayaa hai yahaaN
jin pe itihaas ko likhne ke liye vaqt na thaa

sharaab kar ke piyaa us ne zahar jiivan bhar
hamaare shahar men 'Neeraj'-saa koi mast na thaa
