Dost, gam khuari mein meri saee farmawenge kaya
Zakham ke bharne talak nakhun na bad jainge kaya
Bai niyazi had se guzri, bandai parwer! kab talak
Hum kahenge hale dil aap farma denge kaya?
Hazrate naseh gar aawen, deda-o-dil farshe rah
Koi mujh ko ye to samjha do ki samjhawenge kaya
Aaj wa'n taig-o-kafan bandhe huai jata hon main
Uzar mere qatal kar ne woh ab lawenge kaya?
Gar gaya naseh ne hum ko qaid, achcha, yon sahi
Ye junone ishq ke andaz chut jawenge kaya?
Khanai zade zulf hain, zanjeer se bhagenge kiyon
Hain giraftare wafa, zindan se ghabrawenge kaya!
Hai ab is mamoorah mein qahte game ulfat, Asad
Hum ne mana dilli mein rahenge khawenge kaya

Hawas ko hai nishate kar kaya
Na ho meran to jine ka mazah kaya hai
Tajahul paishgi se muddua kaya
Kahan tak ai srapa naz kaya kaya
Nwazishhaie be jaan daikhta hon
Shikayathai rangin ka gila hai
Nigahe be muhaba chahta hon
Tgaful haye tamkin azman kaya
Faroge sholai, khas, yak nafas hai
Hawas ko pas namose wafa kaya!
Nafas mauje muhite baikhudi hai
Tgaful haye saqi ka gila hai
Dimage etre pairahan nahin hai
Game awargi haye saba kaya
Dil her qatrah hai saze ana al baher
Hum uske hai hamara poochna kaya
Muhaba kaya hai zamin idhar daikh
Shidane nigah ka khoon baha kaya!
Sun ai gar tagre jinse wafa! Sun
Shikaste qeemat dil ki sada kaya
Kiya kis ne jigar dari ka dawa?
Shakeebe khatire asiq bhala kaya
Ye qatil, wadaye sabr azman kiyon?
Ye kafir fitnai taqat ruba kaya!
Balai jaan hai Ghalib us ki her bat
Ibarat kaya, asharat kaya, ada kaya
