Dost ba kar bhii nahi.n saath nibhane wala
Wohii andaaz hai zalim ka zamane wala

Ab ise log samajhate hai.n giraftaar maira
Sakht nadim hai mujhe daam me.n laane wala

Kyaa kahai.n kitne maraasim the hamaare is se
Wo jo ik shakhs hai mu.nh phair ke jaane wala

Tere hote hue aa jaatii thii saarii duniyaa
Aajh tanha hoon tou koii nahii.n aane wala

Muntaziir kiska hoo.n tootii huii dehleez pe mai.n
Kaun aayega yahaan kaun hai aane wala

Maine daikhaa hai bahaaro.n me.n chaman ko jalte
Hai koii khwaab kii tabeer bataane wala

Kia khabar thii jo mairii jaan me.n ghulta hai itnaa
Hai wohii mujh ko sar-e-der bhii laane wala

Tum taqalluf ko bhii ikhlaas samajhte ho 'Fraz'
Dost hota nahiin her haath milaane wala
