khud main gum rehna to aadat hai purani meri

bheerr main bhi tumhain mil jaoon ga aasani se
khoya khoya hua rehna hai nishani meri

main ne ik baar kaha tha k bohot pyasa hoon
tab se mashHoor hui tishna dihaani meri

yehi diwaar-o-dar-o-baam thay meray hamraaz
inhi galiyon main bhatakti thee jawani meri

tu bhi is shehr ka baasi hai to lag ja dil se
tujh se wabasta hai ik yaad purani meri

karbala dasht-e-mohabbat ko bana rakha hai
kya ghazal goee hai kya marsiyah khwani hai meri

dheemay lehjay ka sukhanwar hoon na sehba hoon na josh
main kahan aur kahan shola beyaani meri
