جب ہجر کے شہر میں دھوپ اُتری، میں جاگ پڑا تو خواب ہوا

میری سوچ خزاں کی شاخ بنی، تیرا چہرا اور گلاب ہوا


برفیلی رُت کی تیز ہوا کیوں جھیل میں کنکر پھینک گئی

اک آنکھ کی نیند حرام ہوئی، اک چاند کا عکس خراب ہوا


بھرے شہر میں ایک ہی چہرا تھا، جسے اب کے گلیاں دھونڈتی ہیں

کسی صبح اُس کی دھوپ ہوئی، کسی شام وہی مہتاب ہوا


تیرے ہجر میں ذہن پگھلتا ہے، تیرے قُرب میں آنکھیں جلتی ہیں

تیرا کھونا ایک قیامت تھا، تیرا ملنا اور عذاب ہوا


بڑی عمر کے بعد اِن آنکھوں میں، اک ابر اُترا تیری یادوں کا

میرے دل کی زمیں آباد ہوئی، میرے من کا نگر شاداب ہوا


کبھی وصل میں محسن دل ٹوٹا، کبھی ہجر کی رُت نے لاج رکھی

کِسی جسم میں آنکھیں کھو بیٹھے، کوئی چہرا کھلی کتاب ہوا<!--sizec--><!--/sizec--><!--colorc--><!--/colorc--><!--fontc--><!--/fontc-->
