hay ye wo lafz k sherminda_e ma'ana na howa

sabza_e khat sey tera kakul_e serkash na daba
ye zamrad bhi hareef_e dam_e a'afa na howa

main chaha tha k undoh_e wafa sey chotoo.n
wo sitamgar merey marne pe bhi raazi na howa

dill guzar gaah_e khayyal_e meh-o saghar hi sahi
gar nafas jadah sar manzil_e taqwa na howa

hoon terey wada na karne pe bhi raazi k kabhi
gosh minnat kash_e gulbang tasalli na howa

kis sey mehromi_e qismat ki shikayat kejeye
hum na chaha tha k mar jain, so wo bhi na howa

mar gaya sadma_e yan junbish_e lub sey Ghalib
natawani sey hareef_e dum_e Esa na howa
