| My vision has become blurry. What I can see now is what my mind guesses. I can feel the warmth on my skin, so maybe it’s sunny. I can hear the birds chirp, so maybe the spring’s here. I can hear thunder, so maybe it’s going to rain. So these ‘maybes’ help me predict my future. And what if all those ‘maybes’ are false expectations? We all expect the sun to make us feel warm, we all expect the moon to give a soft luminous shine and we all expect that little child to laugh when we tickle her tummy. We all are always expecting...expectin g from non-living things, expecting from beings. Totally depending on other things. Expectations from non-living things are always fulfilled. You throw a ball really hard at the wall, you expect it to bounce it back towards you so you’re ready to dodge your head if it comes your way.You wouldn't even mind if it attacks your face because that's what you expected from it. You expect a tall tree to give you shade in the terrible heat and so it does give you shade. Non-living things do not reject you anything. So whatever your input is, you can fairly judge what the output shall be. It’s the opposite with the living things. Their responses are manipulated by the ‘selfish-machine’ sitting inside their heads. Expectations from these ‘selfish-machines’ must be kept as low as possible. Even if you input a lot into these machines, the output is negligible. And if you keep expecting to give you any sort of output, then the hope in your eyes will slowly start to drift away. In short, your vision, where your cherished past lies, where your future dwells too… will become so blurry…that you might as well start calling yourself 'handicapped', a special kind of handicapped who cannot be supported by any physical resource. And then when you become one, let me know, I love laughing at fools. Lately it's just me, whom I laugh at...but there's always room for more! -chalakie |
