I have found Ghalib to be a diffrent poet on many counts. Ghalib is a great poet is almost unanimous.

Yet a few were against Ghalib.

To me his brevity was the beauty of his narration clubbed with the perfect examples he gave in the second "misra".

For example:

Mehrbaan ho ke bula lo mujhe chao jis dam,

Main gaya waqt nahin hoo ke phir aa bhi na sakoon.

The second misra is very apt for a thing [time] which can never be callled back.
