kahein raste mein khoo jaey
jahaan mauqa nikul jaey
jahaan sooret buney ghum ki
jahaan bey raunaqi ka koyi bhi pehloo nikulta hai
wahein kheema lagati hai
UDAASI THAIHUR JAATI HAI

magar mujhe bataa do ki kiun udaas ho tum
hafaa na ho meri jurrat'e takhtab par
tumhein khabar hai meri zindagii ki aas ho tum

mera to kuch bhi nahi hai main ro ke ji loongaa
magar khudaa ke liye tum aseer'e gham na raho
huaa hii kia jo zamaane ne tum ko cheen liya
yahaan par kaun hua hai kisi kaa socho to
mujhe qasam hai meri dukh bhari jawaani ki
main khush hoon meri muhabbat ke phool thukara do

main apnii roh ki har ek khushi mita loongaa
magar tumhaari masarrat mitaa nahi saktaa
main khud ko maut ke hathoon mein saunp saktaa hoon
magar ye bar'e musaaib uthaa nahi saktaa
tumhaare gham ke sivaa aur bhi to gham hain mujhe
nijaat jin se main ek lahaza paa nahi saktaa

ye unche unche makaanon ki devariyon ke tale
har kaam pe bhooke bhikaariyon ki sadaa
har ek ghar mein aflaas aur bhook ka shor
har ek simt ye insaaniyat ki aah'o bukaa
ye karkhaanon mein lohe ka shor'o gul jis mein
hai dafn laakhon ghareebon ki roh kaa naghmaa

ye shara'hoon pe rangeen saadiyon ki jhalak
ye jhonpariyon mein ghareeboon ke be'kafan laashein
ye maal road pe karoon ki rail pail kaa shor
ye patriyon pe ghareeboon ke zard'ru bache
gali gali mein bikte hue jawaan chehre
haseen aankhon mein afsurdgi si chhai hui

ye jang aur ye mere watan ke shokh jawaan
kharidi jaati hain uth'ti jawaaniyaan jinki
ye baat baat pe kanoon aur zabte ki giraft
ye zeesq ye ghulaami ye daur'e majboori
ye gham hain bahot meri zindagi mitaane ko
udaas rah ke mere dil ko aur ranj na do
