dil se ho surf-i-nazar shokh sukhan hay k nahiN
ye kasak dekh zara juzw-i-matan hay k nahiN

aisay bay faiz safar meiN hi guzar jayeiNgay?
ablaa paa'oN ka bhi koi watan hay k nahiN


zaib-i-tun se humeiN fursat jo milay to dekheiN
dil-i-murda ko mayassar bhi kafan hay k nahiN

khil'at-i-ghum to ata kerdi magar soch zara
aisi poushaak k shayaaN ye badan hay k nahiN

teekhay lafzouN ki tiray kaat suna baqi hay
janay lehjay meiN tiray ab wo chubhan hay k nahiN

t'ri zou se jo firozaaN hay m'ra mehr-i-hayaat
m'ray khooN se t'ra gul rushk-i-chaman hay k nahiN

maang ker meiN nay guzari nahiN kia umr tamam?
m'ra her lamha t'ray paas rahan hay k nahiN
