tum magar dost kahaN thay pehle
ab wahaN khaak ooratee hai khizaaN
phool hi phool jahaaN thay pehle
ab jo deewar bunay baithay hain
soorat-e mooj rawaaN thay pehle
kuch sharabee keh hein ab rah nasheeN
ronaq-e buzm-e maghaaN thay pehle
hum keh hein aaj ghobaar puss-e ro
munzil hum sufraaN thay pehle
ab kise waza-e mohabbat ka khayal
aur hi loag yahaan thay pehle
ab to khudh per bhi nahin zaam-e wafa
tujh se hum shikwa kinaaN thay pehle
bun gya kafla chaltay chaltay
wurna tunha hi rawaan thay pehle
dolat-e ghum tau moyashar thi Faraz
itne muflis bhi kahaan thay pehle..!
