mujh ko udaas dekh kar, pocha gaya kiun ho udaas ?
main ne kaha, chashm hai nam, gul bhi hain sarey mehv'e yaas
pocha nahi ham se hal'e dil, chal diye woh ho kar nikaar
nazar aye they jo aik din, dil'o nazar ke paas paas
nadaan they ham, kuch na kaha, baithey rahey, lab see liye
dekhi jo unki be'rukhi, ashkoon se likhi thi iltemaas
mayre qatil se koi pochay, kiya hui unki bisaat ?
usne kaha, dikhi jo unki ik nigah urh gaye hosh'o hawas
dil'e muztarib ki her ik tarap, ker gai hai mujhey soogwar
baarey jo soogwar huye, usne kiya ranj se rooshanaas
mayri be'khudi, mayri be'hishhi, mayra ishq, mayri aagahi
mayra dil hi ishq ka maizbaaN, aur ishq ki woosat be'qayaas
jee main tha, kaash unki deed ka hoo kuch intezaam
mil jaye ik lamha deed ka, mitt jaye sadiyoon ki piyaas
